  Extremely overrated fish and chips. Obviously they have good publicity friends. This is NOT the best fish and chip shop in the town as some will tell you. The best is Leons on Church Street IMHO. Johnsons chips leave a lot to be desired, often cold by the time you get them home, with them insisting on boxing everything without proper insulation. The fish I have had has been spoiled by a thick and very stodgy batter, which leaves a fatty residue within the fish itself. On the plus side, the fish is big and they are very very generous with their helpings of chips, so in that respect you get much more for your money than you would elsewhere. But in my view quality will always win over quantity, which is why I visit Leons rather than Johnsons.
